A little bit about me :
From the vibrant cultural tapestry of Kolkata, India, I, Kamakshi Pasari, have embarked on an artistic journey that transcends the ordinary. As a conceptual fashion and product photographer, graphic designer, and cinematographer, my work explores visual storytelling that melds simplicity with profound aesthetic sensibilities.
My fascination with photography began in the 7th grade, sparked by the gift of my first DSLR. What started as a playful curiosity soon evolved into a passionate pursuit. Enrolling in photography workshops, I eagerly delved into the mechanics of my camera, learning to capture the world through a lens that gradually sharpened my understanding of composition, symmetry, and color.
In those early days, the concept of a ‘good visual’ was elusive, and the idea of ‘aesthetics’ was uncharted territory. Yet, through relentless practice and deepening research, I honed my craft, developing a keen eye for detail and a nuanced appreciation for the beauty in the mundane.
Photography became my constant companion, from candid street scenes and bustling events to intimate moments at weddings and birthdays. However, it was not until I received my first fashion project collaboration that my true calling was revealed. During that shoot, I witnessed the synergy of skilled professionals – from wardrobe stylists and makeup artists to hairdressers and outfit designers – working in concert to create something extraordinary. This experience ignited my passion for fashion photography, propelling me to explore this vibrant field further.
Driven by this newfound vision, I relocated from Kolkata to Mumbai, the heart of India’s fashion industry. Immersed in the city’s dynamic energy, I dedicated myself to mastering the nuances of fashion photography. Today, my work spans portraits, product photography and conceptual fashion and lifestyle shoots.
My style is committed to simplicity, minimalism, and a distinct aesthetic fun and frolic.
